Paint me a Rainbow, Lord

by

Tannia E. Ortiz-Lopés

Paint me a rainbow, Lord,

with all the colors of nature.

Let it be bright and spectacular!

Let us say “WOW” in amazement.

Paint me a rainbow, Lord,

on the heavens with the stars.

Let their spark contrast

with the glowing of your love!

Paint me a rainbow, Lord,

with the magnificent plumage of your birds!

Let them fly in harmonious shades

bringing our homage to your Throne!

Paint me a rainbow, Lord,

with the creatures of the sea.

Let them dance in gracious rhythm

and with spectacular formation

worship your majesty!

Paint me a rainbow, Lord,

with the hidden treasures of the earth.

Let the rubies, diamonds, emeralds,

gold, silver, and amber

melt together

with your everlasting purifying fire!

Paint me a rainbow, Lord.

A rainbow visible to the blind.

Let their blindness instantly disappear

so they could see your radiance presence

inside their souls.

Paint me a rainbow, Lord,

beyond human understanding.

A rainbow full of melodic music

as the wind blows gently through

your willows,

your prairies,

your mountains,

your rivers,

and your caves.

Paint me a rainbow, Lord.

A rainbow that last forever.

A rainbow in which our souls

could recreate in your glory

and forever and ever

united with the Holy Spirit live eternally

in your chosen Paradise!
