The April 2008 Issue is now ready.

Welcome to another packed issue of The Muse Marquee.

In this issue we are proud to direct your attention to the award right above this page. That’s right…The Muse Marquee won the Preditors and Editors April 2008 Most Useful Site Award. We’d like to thank everyone for helping us spread the word about our informative monthly column/zine.

We have another writer who dared to send in their first 500 word beginning to Mommacrit. Yes, M. Thal was brave enough to send in the first 500 words of "The Deception". Find out what Mommacrit had to say.

Mother Hen’s Bin offers you a reprint of "Horror 101". Halloween is a few months off but here's a column to set your mood in the right frame of mind to write your ghastly story ahead of schedule.

Musings Editor Susan Stephenson offers "Advice to a Blurber". Writing blurbs is a skill some writers find difficult. Check out what Susan has to say.

Les Stephenson, Editor of Up From Down Under, offers insight into another great Australian writer: Patrick White, 1912 - 1990

The April 2008 Flashers page congratulates the two winners of our Flash Fiction Contest: Resha Caner and Karina L. Fabian. This month features Resha's story, Choices. Karina's story, Innocents, will appear in May. Congratulations, Resha and Karina.

Our Poets page this month spotlights Poetry by Sally Odgers.

We've added a new contest: Musings Contest: BLURB IT! Check it out and make sure you enter. Stay tuned for more upcoming contests later this year.

Our Poetry Contest is now closed. Stay tuned for the results coming in a future issue.

There are NO fees to enter our contests but there are CASH prizes to be awarded, so make sure you check it out.

As always, we invite you to send in your own submissions to us. Check our Guidelines for which editor to submit your work to.

CRIT ALERT!!!   “Because Mommacrit has been inundated with submissions, the Crit Me! Column will close to submissions until further notice. Mommacrit thanks those writers who sent bribes with their submissions – unfortunately, the chocolate melted. Mommacrit will continue to post honest critiques on work previously received, with or without chocolate.”
