The June 2008 Issue is
now ready.
Welcome to another packed issue of The Muse
Marquee.
We have another writer who dared to send in
their first 500 word beginning to Mommacrit. Yes, F. Fuller was brave enough to send in the first 500 words of "For
the Heart’s Treasure". Find out what Mommacrit had to say.
Mother Hen’s Bin is absent this month.
But, stay tuned for next month when she introduces a whopping contest.
Musings
Editor Susan Stephenson offers "Bloggadoodahday". Come
again? That was my first initial reaction. Then I looked closer at the title, read the article and it all made sense: blogging.
Find out what Susan has to say on this topic.
Also,
Susan Stephenson announces the winner of her Blurb It Contest. Drum roll…and the winner is…more drum roll…Rose
McQuestion with her winning entry, “Once In A Blue Moon”. Congratulations, Rose.
Les Stephenson,
Editor of Up From Down Under, offers a great column this month, as usual. “Active and Passive” hits an area
where many writers appear to have some problems. In his easy to understand and concise explanation, Les helps to clear up
the difference between the active and passive writing voice.
Worlds
Apart editor Charles Mossop hits another amazing subject this month: The Question of the Narrator’s Voice. Between Les
Stephenson’s “Passive and Active”, and Charles column this month, I believe many writers will have a clearer
understanding between these writing voices.
Our newest
editor, Norma Howell, brings a subject that finally has cleared my own ‘which do I use’ query. The Written Word’s
column this month is “Should You Use Lie or Lay in that Sentence?”
The May
2008 Flashers page showcases Crystalwizard’s flash fiction, Anguish in the Night.
Our Poets
page this month spotlights “Writing Letters on the Toilet” by Russel Chale.
As always, we invite you to send in your own
submissions to us. Check our Guidelines for which editor to submit your work to.
The Muse
Marquee editors will be on vacation in August which means no issue that month. However, we'll be back in September, tanned,
refreshed, and ready to rock and roll the fall season.
