Musings Contest: BLURB IT!

 muselings@yahoo.com.au

Do you have a story you think might intrigue me? Can you write a blurb that piques my interest? Can you write a blurb that would make me want to pay some hard-earned cash to read more? If so, this contest is for you!

What?

Write a blurb of no more than 150 words about your (fiction) story. The blurb is a hook that should answer my question, ”Why should I read this?” If I choose your blurb, it will be published in the March issue of the Muse Marquee and you’ll receive $15 in your Paypal account. The blurb can be for your short story or novel, any genre of fiction. It must pertain to fiction that has been written, or is in the process of being written, by you.

When?

All entries must be received at muselings@yahoo.com.au by February 10, 2007.

How?

Send your blurb, AS AN ATTACHED WORD DOCUMENT, to muselings@yahoo.com.au  and include your contact details. Put “Submission, Blurb It” in the subject line. I will send you a reply email to confirm receipt of your submission.

Blurb on!

Susan

Mother Hen's Bin Contest

Ah! February! Valentine's Day! The month where relationships are examined, where chocolates and cards are sent.

Well, this contest has nothing to do with the above. Actually, it's quite the opposite. I want a totally different story than a 'happily-ever-after' finish. Surprise me. Give me a twist at the end I wasn't expecting.  BUT, make sure it centers either around Valentine's Day or a relationship.

WORD COUNT:

no more than 1000 words. Go over and you're automatically disqualified. Title does not count.

DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 10, 2007

PRIZE: $15.00 payable via Paypal

SUBMIT TO: museitupeditor@yahoo.ca

Place MOTHER HEN CONTEST on the subject heading, your name, email address, title, word count, followed by the flash fiction tale within the body of your email.

Have fun.

Lea
